Ottimate account structure

This article explains the structure of an Ottimate Account.

Overview

Ottimate accounts are organized under different layers for secure access:

Client Accounts

A client account represents an organization using Ottimate to automate accounts payable processes. An account may serve one or more companies. A client account’s primary key, the account id, is always prefixed with racc_.

Companies

A company is a distinct accounting entity within a client account. When you provision a client account, you must set up at least one company with its related business information. Each company has its own:

  • Chart of accounts
  • Vendor list
  • Dimensions

A client account can have multiple companies. If a client account has subsidiaries with separate chart of accounts, vendors, and files taxes separately, then they should be set up as separate companies.
